-Kenya had a war and process, it happened because of Jomo Kenyatta and his views so groups of people were trying to carry that out. -In 1952, the Mau Mau people attacked the British settlements -In 1953, the leader Jomo Kenyatta was jailed and then released a few years later. -Thousands of Mau Mau people were killed when they rebelled against the British settlements and total bloodshed happened. -There was a state of emergency placed over Kenya, and it wasn’t taken off until 1960. -In 1960, Africans were giving majority vote in London in a conference. As a result Kenya becomes republic and gains independence and Kenyatta becomes Prime Minister -Kenyatta makes a running free-market economy that includes investment. -Soon enough in the early 1990s, the economy goes downhill and there is heavy corruption involved. -The Multiparties idea doesn’t work out because the elections are without Kenyatta. |
